Christopher Alexander’s seminal work2 on architectural design patterns inspired the formalization of design patterns in software. Like building design, software development has a strong bespoke design culture; software projects are just as likely to run over budget and schedule as construction projects. Of course, the obvious difference with software is that copies can be made essentially for free.

    • while Stand-alone licenses of Autodesk software may be installed on virtual machines, sessions depending on such licenses must be accessed through the hardware directly supporting the virtual machine, not through a network connection. Access to remote sessions of Autodesk software over a network is only permitted if you have a Network License.
    • The Session Specific Network License type only applies to application virtualization technologies, not virtual machines.     • Depuis plus de deux ans, nous menons une réflexion avec Open Geospatial Consortium afin de trouver un modèle conceptuel fonctionnel.
    • Il faut simplifier ces échanges qui existent déjà, mais de manière trop disparate et sans standard : des gains de productivité sont réalisables.
    • L’agrégation des modèles issus du BIM et des modèles issus du SIG ouvrent des perspectives de développement pour modéliser des villes complètes, et plus encore…
    • du côté du BIM le langage IFC tient la corde, du côté du SIG, le GML
    • Une fois que le modèle commun sera trouvé, explique Christophe Castaing, chaque système alimentera l’autre d’une mine d’informations. Les éléments ajoutés pourront être envoyées vers la data base via un portail web dont les spécificités techniques restent à définir.

    • Si l’on considère la gestion du patrimoine (Facility Management), BIM et SIG contiennent les deux des informations qui peuvent être utiles.
    • Différentes méthodes existent pour transférer les données entre les deux systèmes, soit via un lien entre les bases de données, soit via un format propriétaire ou les IFC en utilisant un convertisseur. A l’avenir, et cela a déjà commencé sur certains projets de construction/maintenance de routes, BIM et GIS devront être complètement intégrés tant leurs données sont complémentaires.
